At Grand Northern Ukulele Festival, we are committed to finding and showcasing the world’s top ukulele talent. We are excited to introduce you to new artists and we work hard to help familiar favourites try out new ideas.
Inspiring Performances by World-Class Artists
Over a Dozen International and Regional Debuts
This year sees over a dozen acts making their festival debut including the legendary Mr. B the Gentleman Rhymer and rising youtube star Natasha Ghosh. We’re supporting Andy Eastwood as he writes a brand new composition to debut at GNUF.
Genuinely New Experiences You Won't See Elsewhere
Across the festival, artists are developing a wide range of never-before-seen workshops and events. You could explore the world of English folk music or learn more about sustainability in music practice. Go on a photo safari with James Millar or see a demonstration of instruments from the golden age of the ukulele.
We are chuffed to bits about all of the outstanding folks who will make their GNUF debut this year. From renowned performers on the international stage to up-and-coming performers, you’ll want to see them all. Scroll down to see just a few of the many talented and inspiring people debuting at GNUF 2018.
We are strong supporters of artists developing new work and this year is no exception. We’re excited to announce that Andy Eastwood is composing new work. Kiki Lovechild is developing a piece. Opera-lele will be putting their theatre training to use as they compere and that’s only the beginning.
There are lots of new things in store this year!
Whether it’s brand new workshops, activities you’ve not seen at any other ukulele festival or just a chance to learn something new, you’ll find it at GNUF.
